A course packet is ordered by UT faculty as a compilation of course materials put into one easy-to-access place for students in an inexpensive manner. Course packets can act as a supplement to or a replacement of a textbook, or it can follow the curriculum that the instructor has personally designed. Faculty will instruct their students at the beginning of the semester as to whether a course packet is required for a course.
Course packets sales open approximately two weeks before classes start. Packets will be posted for sale as they become available. Some packets may be available in either PDF or printed version.

Faculty and teaching assistants can order course packet preparation online (EID required).
Submission Recommendations: • Fall Semester - July 1; • Spring Semester - Dec. 1; and • Summer Semester - May 1
These dates are recommended as the last day you can bring in your packet for guaranteed readiness by the first class day (unless copyright clearance causes delay). We accept packets after the deadline and make an effort to produce it as fast as possible but cannot promise to have it ready by your requested due date.
Full-service course packet preparation
We offer complete and full assistance to our faculty when preparing course packets. We can obtain copyright permission, order case originals, and print your class material from digital files or hard copy originals.
You may drop off your packet at any of our four locations around campus or call our central office to arrange a pickup from your office.
We work directly with the UT System Attorney in the Intellectual Property division to ensure that we are following all of the rules and guidelines for fair use and copyright laws.
